LED ILLUMINATION / KYOTO Station GREAT STAIRCASE

Motion Graphic , Visual Design

LED illuminations has been installed in the great staircase that symbolizes the Kyoto Station Building as a new attraction of Kyoto. We suggested to install strip-shaped full-color LED (14,750 modules) in portion of the risers of the grand staircase (125 steps). And we created a new illumination expressing such as the season, landscape, special events in Kyoto by blinking and color change like a video.

I created multiple types of content. Due to the vertical format and depth, I carefully adjusted the visuals during CG previews to ensure that the text and shapes appeared clean and clear in real-life viewing. I also incorporated animations that fit the shape of staircases and added dynamic, powerful movements to create visually striking content that would surprise and captivate the audience.

MODERN HANAFUDA : Hanafuda are traditional Japanese playing cards, featuring intricate designs of flowers and nature representing the twelve months of the year. I deconstructed and abstracted elements of Hanafuda, adding fluid movements, so that reimagine the classic cards into a modernized form.

STAY SAFE SAVE LIVES : This video content was created to encourage viewers to follow safety guidelines during the COVID-19 pandemic. At that time, people were feeling isolated, and the outdoor entertainment industry had come to a standstill. My goal was to create content that would bring a bit of joy to viewers, even during such challenging times.
